Dr. Len Schwartz- The 10 Minute Makeover Marketing Strategy

This marketing strategy is all about makeovers. I’m sure by now you have been exposed to all of the different types of Marketing Makeover Strategymakeovers on television. Remember, the only reason they have so many shows about before-and-after makeovers, is because the public LOVES these stories! The story is what keeps the viewers attention. It’s time for you to get in the makeover game!

There are specific times of the year when you should pitch the makeover story: January (just after New Year’s), Spring time, just before summer, at the beginning of fall, and of course, during the holidays.

If you can “perform” a makeover of some kind under the umbrella of “health or finances” you’ve got an audience just waiting to listen and learn from you.

Figure out a way to bring one of your (willing) patients, clients or customers on the air with you (TV or radio). Your patient/client/customer will share their story with the viewing audience and then, you can show the audience (while demonstrating on your patient/client/customer) how to improve their lives in 5-10 minutes or less.

The television producers, as well as your viewing audience, are already used to these makeover segments and love to see before and after results or comparisons.

I have had Financial Advisor clients of mine on shows like Good Morning America and the Today show where they showed the nation different strategies for managing their income, planning for retirement, etc. This produced a huge number of leads/clients and gave them video clips they could use on their website, on a promo piece, etc., and established instant (enormous) credibility.

Think of something you can show your local viewing audience. Here’s another example for a Financial Advisor or CPA – You can perform a financial makeover where you create some sort of wealth creation or debt reduction analysis for the viewing public in 5-10 minutes or less – live on television.

If you can do a health or beauty appearance makeover in ten minutes or less, why wouldn’t they come to see you? You instantly become the perceived expert. EVERYONE would love to improve his or her overall look in 10 minutes or less!

Call your local TV stations and ask for the segment producer who fields pitches for their show. Tell them your idea for a makeover story. Do this! Make the call! You will love the fame, recognition, leads, new business and credibility that come from being on the air.
